Liwa International Festival 2026/27

The Liwa International Festival runs from 11 December 2026 to 2 January 2027 in the Empty Quarter in Abu Dhabi's Al Dhafra region, daily from 4pm to midnight. Liwa Village is the main hub, and the motorsport programme takes place at the Tal Moreeb dune.

Driving to Liwa? Check Your Tires First
Liwa is in the desert, a long drive from the main cities, and roads near the dunes can have sand drifting across the tarmac. A tire check before you set off is worth the few minutes, especially for a long drive after dark.
- Check pressures when the tires are cold, using the figures on your door-jamb sticker. Use the higher 'full load' figure if the car is carrying passengers and bags.
- Look for cuts, bulges or uneven wear before a long highway drive.
- Read the four-digit date code on the sidewall (week and year). Tires older than about five or six years deserve a closer look even with tread left.
- If you drive on sand, reduce speed on sand-covered tarmac and avoid sudden braking or steering.
