Driving to Ras Al Khaimah? Check Your Tires First
Ras Al Khaimah is about 45 minutes from Dubai on the E311, so most visitors arrive after a highway drive. A car show is also a good place to see how far wheel and tire choices can differ from factory fitment. If you like a setup you see, check that it suits your car before copying it: width, rim size and load rating all matter, and the original sizes for most models are listed on our car model pages.
- Check pressures when the tires are cold, using the figures on your door-jamb sticker.
- Look for cuts, bulges or uneven wear on the sidewalls and inner shoulders before a highway drive.
- Read the four-digit date code on the sidewall (week and year). Tires older than about five or six years deserve a closer look even with tread left.
- Thinking of a bigger wheel? Keep the overall tire diameter close to the original so your speedometer reading and wheel-arch clearance stay right.
